Ed Chef

Hi, my name is Ed. Or Ed Chef, as you’ll get to know me here! I spent many years working Front of House at a Michellin Star restaurant, before taking over as its Manager. Since then, I have turned my attention to making food of my own, rather than serving other people’s!

My history

In the mid 2010s I began working in the restaurant industry. I took on a role out front in a Michellin Star restaurant. It was an incredible place and provided me with a wealth of incredible experiences. I saw things I could not believe and I had ample opportunity to try new things.

It wasn’t long before I took over as Manager. Even though I wasn’t cooking myself, my job was to know the food as well as any one of the chefs. I learned everything I could about different cuisines, types of food and complex techniques.

What I like to cook

I quickly realised I wanted to share what I had learned with the world. I have served a lot of food and cooked a great deal more. But those two things have never before met. And I would like to share my ideas, knowledge and recipes with you.

That meant finding a focus. I love cooking food from every corner of the globe. Whether it’s English, French or Italian. Or North American, Vietnamese or African.

But the thing I know and love best is cooking Indian food. I have been eating it ever since I was a child. And I have been cooking it for almost as long. In fact, the very earliest food memories I have are of playing around with flour and spices.

As I have gotten older, I have taught myself to combine that newfound knowledge with my passion for cooking Indian food. I cook and write about food from all over the world. But I do like to focus on those wonderful Indian classics and make them with the love, care and attention to detail I learned from some of the world’s very best chefs.

What my site is all about

On this website, I want to share some of what I’ve learned after all those years in that Michelin Star world. I want to share with you the recipes I have put together after applying everything I have learned to the dishes I know best.

As passionate as I am about cooking Indian food, I do love cooking food from all corners of the Earth. I adore Thai food and I find African cuisine criminally underrated. On this site, I will be digging into those wonderful cuisines and pulling out authentic, well made versions of the dishes they do best.

From there, I will cook those dishes with the love and care they deserve and post them right here for you to look over. I want to make sure that everything and anything you could ever want to know about cooking is right there for you!
